CAHA has two outstanding (PCA) Positive Coaching Alliance seminars that can be used by any of our association this upcoming spring season. These seminars stress the skills necessary to have a strong foundation in coaching hockey and all athletics.
Coaches play an incredibly influential role in the lives of athletes. Often players spend more time with their coaches than anyone else outside of the home environment. Therefore, it is important that school and youth sports organization (YSO) leaders and administrators take care in setting standards of success for the coaching staff, especially when hiring and training coaches. At Positive Coaching Alliance, we believe these standards are reflected not just on the scoreboard. While winning is important, it is more important that coaches teach life lessons through sports. We consider a coach that focuses on both of these outcomes to be a Double-Goal Coach®.
If you want to schedule a PCA Coaching seminar please contact either Randy Kanai or Greg Johnson. Since there are only two seminars this will be on a first come first serve basis to reserve one of the seminars
CAHA has established two (2) registrations program for the 2015-2016 Season to ensure all background screenings are accomplished for all coaches, managers, referees, billet families, and board members with direct contact with players.
Parent Registration - CAHA/Avs Cares - At least one (1) parent for each player is required to register with CAHA per the SafeSport Program.
Coaches/Managers/Referees/Billet Families/Board Members - All coaches (head and assistant), team managers, referees, billet family members and board members are required to register online with CAHA each season. All registrations will be submitted for the required background screenings.
